Kepler’s is excited to host an incredible panel of children’s fantasy authors! Join us to celebrate the release of Hollowthorn by Kalyn Josephson, a spectacularly spooky story that you are not going to want to put down!
We return to the magical city of Ravenfall with Anna and Colin, who must venture to the Otherworld in order to protect the Tree of Life. If they fail, they risk losing the magic of Ravenfall forever. Steeped in Jewish mythology, and brimming with magic, Ravenfall is a cozy and enchanting series that you are going to want to read again and again.
Kalyn will be joined by Claire Kann, author of Suitehearts #1: Harmony and Heartbreak and Misa Sugiura, author of Momo Arashima Steals the Sword of the Wind. The authors will be celebrating the launch of Hollowthorn with a spirited discussion about fantastical worlds, the magic of storytelling, and more. The panel will be moderated by Kepler’s kids bookseller extraordinaire Kristin Hall.
ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Kalyn Josephson currently works as a Technical Writer in the tech industry, which leaves room for too many bad puns about technically being a writer. Though she grew up in the central coast, she graduated from Santa Clara University with degrees in Biology and English. Currently, she lives in the Bay Area with two black cats (who are more like a tiny dragon and an ever tinier owl). THE STORM CROW duology and Ravenfall series are out now.
Claire Kann is the author of several novels and an award-winning online storyteller. Her favorite stories are the kind about everyday life with just a touch of the supernatural hidden in the details. She lives and writes in dreamy California with her cat, Bebe. Find her everywhere @KannClaire (including on her blog Going Forward).
Misa Sugiura’s ancestors include a poet, a priestess, a samurai, and a stowaway. She was born and raised in Chicagoland but eventually found her way to her true home in Northern California, where she lives and writes under a giant oak tree with her husband, two sons, and a cat named Mouse. Momo Arashima Steals the Sword of the Wind is her first middle-grade novel and was inspired by the gods and monsters of her parents’ home country, Japan.
Masks are required for everyone over the age of 2 years old and must be worn at all times in the venue, and throughout the duration of the event.
