Have you always wanted to read Jane Austen’s books, but never found the time? Are you an Austen enthusiast already, but would love to dive into her work in community with others? Are you intrigued by Austen, but don’t quite understand what the fuss is about?
We’re thrilled to offer you the chance to check off all six of Austen’s full length novels (in order of publication) from your TBR! Read alongside your favorite booksellers, at your favorite bookstore, with tea and snacks! Staff members Stephanie, Kristin, and Donna will lead discussion on a different Austen novel for each of our six in-person meetings.
Perks that make this not your average book club: a read-along Discord server for members; an introductory email for all books that includes themes to pay attention to while reading, historical context, and recommendations for our favorite adaptations; focused and thoughtfully guided conversations about; and a chance to hang out at Kepler’s after hours!
Join us for our meeting on Monday, October 16, at 6:00 PM to discuss Northanger Abbey.
A subsequent meeting will take place on:
Monday, November 13: Persuasion
We strongly recommend the Penguin Classics editions of these books, which are available to purchase here. Each Austen book purchased through Kepler’s grants you entry to that title’s meeting. We are also offering a bundle of all six books, which includes entry to each event.
For those of you with more discerning tastes, we can order in the boxed set of clothbound classics, which have the same page numbers as the paperback editions.
If you would prefer to read your own copies, you are welcome to! We will be asking for a $5 club fee for each meeting. (Note that books purchased here cover any club fees for that title’s meeting date.)
In-store events, gatherings, and reading series like this one have returned to Kepler’s, and we’re so excited to take this book lovers’ journey with you!
Masks are required for everyone over the age of 2 years old and must be worn at all times in the store, and throughout the duration of the event.
