Beyond the Manuscript
So you’ve published a manuscript, now what? The journey doesn’t end when your book is published. Go beyond the book with Alka Joshi in this 90-minute class focused on establishing your brand, marketing yourself and your book, and taking the leap of adapting it into a screenplay. Alka is the NYT bestselling author of The Henna Artist (a Reese Witherspoon’s Book Club selection). Although late to the social media game, she’ll share how she went from unknown debut novelist to internationally-renowned author during the pandemic. What techniques can you use to reach the right audiences? Which media is best for your skillset? How can you make your marketing dollars last?
Joining Joshi as guest instructors are Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Dillon Asher of the Gotham Group in LA and Samra Zafar, Bestselling Memoirist, Public Speaker and Screenwriter. They will discuss the process of book-to-screen adaptation, how streaming platforms have changed the TV/film industry, and how you can go beyond bestselling author to screenwriter, public speaker and instructor. This is the third class in a series of three classes Joshi will present - October 10 (How to Write a Bestseller) and October 27 (Selling Your Manuscript).
