We are so sorry - this event has been cancelled.
CDC health officials are recommending that all gatherings be cancelled due to COVID-19 through May 9th. The wellbeing of our community is our top priority so we are following that recommendation.
A new book by Elisa Kleven, one of our favorite picture book author illustrators, is a cause for celebration. And we will be celebrating when she visits Kepler’s on April 7th to introduce us to Hiro’s Hats, a gently whimsical yarn about an imaginative little snow monkey that sees “a hat one day, flying like a bright bird through the sky”
High in the mountains of Japan, Hiro, a little snow monkey, finds a beautiful hat. "Snow monkeys don't need hats!" his brother tells him. But Hiro's hat does more than keep him warm -- it is also a friend. Only a robin understands. And when Hiro's hat disappears, she surprises him, in time, with two more hats, each as playful and full of life as his first. .
“Through Hiro, Kleven sympathetically illustrates young children’s ability to find emotional connections to inanimate objects, and the creative ways they can respond to stress." --Publishers Weekly
