What sustained—and then destroyed—the life of poet Sylvia Plath? Superb wordsmith Lee Kravetz gracefully interweaves fact and fiction in this imagining of her most pivotal moment. He recreates Plath’s stay at the storied McLean Hospital, where Dr. Ruth Barnhouse urges her forward in her career. But a spiteful literary rival works just as hard to undermine her. Years later, an antiques curator, stunned at the discovery of The Bell Jar’s original manuscript, works to piece this past back together.

Lee Kravetz is the co-author of Supersurvivors: The Surprising Link Between Suffering and Success, and the author of Strange Contagion. He founded the Lit Camp Writers Conference, and teaches at the legendary San Francisco Writers’ Grotto. We’re thrilled to bring him back to you for this celebration of his first novel.
