Love in the Time of Cholera
Gabriel García Márquez—winner of no less than the Nobel Prize—is one of literature’s indisputable greats. Come along with Kimberly into the magical, hilarious, warm and colorful world of Love in the Time of Cholera. One of García Márquez’s best-loved novels, Cholera is set in a mythical, Colombian-Caribbean town, where it serves up love in all its intimate, and sometimes perverse, glory. Whether you read this masterpiece when it came out in 1985 or you are new to the work, do yourself a favor and experience García Márquez through today’s very own perverse lens of magical realism—not to mention with the help of a PhD in Spanish Literature!
The seminar will not only tackle the novel itself but issues of translation, so get ambitious with those New Year’s resolutions and read the book (or at least some of it) in Spanish too! (Kepler’s will have copies of each.)
A copy of Love in the Time of Cholera is included in the price of the Seminar and should be picked up at Kepler's (and read) prior to the meeting date.
