In her sumptuous new cookbook, Sara Calvosa Olson (Karuk) reimagines some of the oldest foods in California for home cooks today. Meaning “Let’s eat!” in the Karuk language, Chími Nu’am shares the author’s delicious and inventive takes on Native food styles from across California.
Jennifer Newens is a cookbook editor, cooking teacher, and literary agent. She believes that everyone deserves to have a special drink in a fancy glass with a pretty garnish at the end of a long day—whether or not one chooses to put alcohol in it. She joins us with her new book Monday Night Mocktails which includes 52 delicious seasonal recipes.
Vina Patel’s life has been all about spices, grains, and beans. In her new book, The Spice Collector’s Cookbook, she shares her best 80 tried-and-tested recipes from her adventures, perfected through her native Indian flavors and flair. There are authentic regional recipes and fusion concoctions that break all the rules, all in the name of flavor.
