Calling all young scientists curious about their surroundings and all makers, crafters, and those who enjoy exploring the outdoors. Meet science educator Jack Challoner as he discusses Maker Lab Outdoors, which focuses on projects that can be done outside, or that emphasize the earth and environment. 

Jack will  lead a series of experiments for attendees and answer science questions. 

Produced in conjunction with the Smithsonian, Maker Lab: Outdoors features 25 projects that will spark kids’ creativity, help develop science skills through hands-on learning., and brings big and complex science concepts right into your backyard.  Each project features a time estimate, difficulty level, and safety recommendations, as well as sections that explain how the science works and offer real-world examples.

Jack Challoner has written more than 40 books on science and technology including DK’s award-winning Make Lab, and acts as a science consultant on books, magazines, and television programs.
