Marilyn Yalom is a senior scholar at the Clayman Institute for Gender Research at Stanford University, and the author of A History of the Wife, among other books. She lives in Palo Alto, CA, with her husband, Irvin.

Theresa Donovan Brown is an award-winning author of fiction and non-fiction. Her fictional works include the murder mystery, The Old Inn at Punta de Sangre and the environmental thriller, Summitville. Her non-fiction includes the co-authored The Social Sex: A History of Female Friendship.

The heart, that symmetrical, two-lobed, ubiquitous symbol of love that’s dotted history from candies and lattes to Shakespearean dramas and medieval iconography, is over two-thousand years. Join award-winning historian and author, Marilyn Yalom, in conversation with Therese Donovan Brown as the two women unravel the mysterious and unconventional history of love and the strange case of the heart.
