Niall Ferguson is the author of Paper and IronThe Ascent of MoneyCivilization, and The Square and the Tower. He is Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University.

David Kennedy is Donald J. McLachlan Professor of History Emeritus at Stanford University and co-director of the Bill Lane Center for the American West. His volume in the series, Freedom From Fear: The American People in Depression and War, 1929-1945, won the Pulitzer Prize for History.
