Pizza, again? It’s a weeknight and you’ve been going since morning. You’re hungry and so is the person next to you, but no one’s picking up a spatula. Wouldn’t it be nice if someone else could help you navigate dinner?
Dr. Julia Nordgren, a Palo Alto physician and trained chef, wants to do just that for Bay Area families. In her work as a pediatrician, Nordgren has cared for patient after patient with conditions like prediabetes, high cholesterol and childhood obesity. Her work with young people and families inspired her to attend the Culinary Institute of America. Now a trained chef, Nordgren maintains vibrant educational programs at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation and the Stanford University Teaching Kitchen, where she combines medical expertise with great taste, menu advice, and firsthand knowledge of the impossible: getting a healthy meal on the table while living at Bay Area speed. Nordgren knows how diet impacts health in real terms.
This January at Kepler’s, Nordgren shares recipes, tips and insight on food with The New Family Table: Cooking More, Eating Together & Staying Relatively Sane. Nordgren will be joined by Dr. Kellen Glinder, outpatient pediatrician. A highly regarded, astute and beloved clinician with two decades of experience, Glinder’s compassion and humor have helped countless children and families in the Bay Area thrive.
There’s hope for those of us who struggle to make it to the stovetop! Nordgren’s cooking advice can move the needle towards better health and happiness. So quick, before the pizza arrives—reserve your seat for better eats with Julia Nordgren this New Year.
